Huge goal : discover Zoldyzen. I will try to tell you a bit more about me and my art. Feel free to follow me on instagram for day to day news.
I started painting because i had to : words were failing to translate what i was seeing. My visions were so deep, colorful and peaceful, only pictures, paintings can try to put them into our physical world. That was in July 2024. At first, it was shy, with the gouache my kids never used in school. But by August, people were stopping in their tracks to look when they were seeing them. I was just doing it to replace words, not to change the world then.
I tried watercolor, still, scholar quality, not really convinced : i wanted deep colors, not that dull thing full of water (i changed my view on watercolor but still not for me😉)
Then, i bought a cheap beginner acrylic set 🤩. I had never thought paradise could only cost 8€. From that day, painting began to take more and more space in my life, litteraly. At first, i had a little box of paintings, 3 brushes and Canson paper. Now, it looks like that and growing :
Slowly, i switched from cheap acrylics to well-known brands, discovering which ones i like (a little clue : so far, all of them 🤣), what they can add to my painting process.
So painting for 2 years ?
As a way of breathing, yes. As a regular hobby practice i was doing anytime i had time and inspiration, no at all. I was painting, crafting little cards and drawing everyday for as long i can remember as a kid. And my first (and last 🙈) criminal record could have been for stealing a painting :
STORY TIME
It was more than 40 years ago in Martinique so my mom was doing the grocery shopping while i was reading alone in the children books area.
I was 3 years old and i saw a painting of a little girl who looked like me. I took it saying it was me so it was mine. The poor artist couldn’t convince me otherwise. After a few minutes, my mom heard the discussion and came. She couldn’t convince me either so… she bought the painting. It it still the only big canva on her walls to these days and honestly, you would totally think the painter knew me because she’s a perfect copy of what i looked like at that time, just bigger : the portrait was as high as me 😊
So don’t mess with the artist, as small as they can be 🧘
So, let’s keep going on the task at hand : discover Zoldyzen. So what i paint, why, how…
What i paint ?
Emotions under landscapes, flowers, abstract covers. Most of the time, the result is peaceful and calm : in my process, i transmute difficult emotions toward light. But often, the underlying emotions are perceptible for those who are living them while seeing the painting. So, if you see something in them that others don’t, it’s probably because you are on the right frequency to see the truth 🌼

More a city person ? Beauty is hidden everywhere
Why i paint ?
Because i had to, because it’s the only way i have found to reach people with the visions that are sent to me. My goal is to change the world, to make it wiser, lighter and more peaceful one person at a time, one painting at a time. If a painting can help someone find inner peace, i would have called it a success.
That’s why i’m also making talismans : most of them are paintings on wood panel, usually round to help people on their spiritual journey. You can discover our available ones there :

How i paint ?
For the medium : acrylic only. I don’t have a studio safe for oil (perhaps one day) and i don’t like watercolor. I’m working in layers, a lot of them and i like the first ones to stay stable when i add the next, something that would require several more coats with watercolor.
Do i draw my paintings first ? Sometimes, but the results are always different than the drawing : i let the canva, the colors take the lead and surprise me.
Do i use AI for reference or anything else ? No, never. I’m working from memories, imagination and reference pictures taken by real humans. It’s often me, i have years of reference pictures (i spent years trying to capture the light on rivers and lakes, from sunsets and nights before realizing the only way to do that is to paint 🙈)
Why painting on watercolor paper with acrylic ? Because i’m often painting with acrylic paint using watercolor technics. Acrylic can do what you ask it so, i’m using the full range of my medium, and still learning everyday 🌞
Canvas, usual paper or even acrylic paper can’t handle the amount of water i’m using for glacing or layering. And great watercolor paper is really adding that eery touch to the painting that only watercolor can have : look at Heartfelt tree to understand what i’m talking about :

And the woman behind it ?
I’m a mom of two teenagers close to be young adults, a black woman proud of her long dreadlocks. I’m coming from the West Indies, you will find a lot of references to my beautiful Martinique here, but also to my adoptive town, Bordeaux. An out and invested in the community lesbian, a passionate teacher and a forever learner, a meditation practitioner and a open-minded christian shaman… Many identities, many roots that you can find intertwined in my paintings. Take what makes sense for you, the only good way is yours 🧘
